Hi all, im looking at trying a croft epoch elite but my pre amp is avi s2000mp
this is the spec,
Input sensitivity 250mV
Input impedance 20K

Distortion better than -95db 1.5Hz to 50kHz

Output impedance 0.2 Ohms

Tape Output 250mV

Frequency response 1.5Hz and 500kHz (-3dB)

Output 1.0 Volt

Maximum output level 8V RMS

and this is the croft (Specifications
Phono
Input sensitivity 1mV-0.5V rms
Input impedance
47k/100 pF

Line

Input sensitivity
125mV-0.5V rms
Input impedance 100k ohms
Output impedance 100 ohms
Maximum output 40V rms
Power 30W
Mains 240/120V
Valves

does this make them inconpatable.

Incompatibility isn't about the preamps being compared side by side, it's about the connection to the power amp. Nevertheless it looks to me as if either one will get on with most power amps. Will it sound good? You'll have to see, or hear.

AVIs 2000 series is bloody good stuff, and with specs like that it looks as if it could live with anything. But valves is valves and they do sound good.
