LJC review here:

https://londonjazzcollector.wordpre...in-1965-72-decca-jazz-explosion-sampler-2021/

Good review, although I disagree with him on his opinion of the big band material. Nice that he’s placed needle drops from the Decca sampler alongside original LP drops for comparison. The reissues sound excellent, perhaps preferable. Although I don’t remember the few original Landsdowne LPs I have sounding quite as dull as LJC’s.

He also gives an indication of titles slated for future release. Nice to see Alan Skidmore and Harry Beckett listed.

I see Honest Jon’s have Kenny Wheeler’s Windmill Tilter available today.

There’s a GoFundMe for Andy Hay’s new album, Another Sun, (here). I signed up last night as the first one, Many Rivers, was really nice spiritual jazz stuff and beautifully presented with hand-painted sleeve, inserts etc, and this looks like more of the same. Proper hand-crafted artisan stuff! Edition of 250.

Mike Gibbs’ Tanglewood ‘63 (original Deram pressing) and Revisiting Tanglewood ‘63 (recently released by Jazz In Britain) given the LJC treatment here:

I have the Deram LP, and can only add that the track LJC has yet to absorb, Canticles, is sublime. Haven’t heard the BBC sourced Revisiting yet, but there is a sample piece and details here:
