Who’s up for some homegrown punk rock?

My new double A-sided single is out now as Claire Foxx and The Antisocial Justice Worriers. The single contains Rise Up c/w Problem Child and is my take on punk pop featuring Drums/Bass/Petulant Angst.

An extremely limited edition 250-300 copies will be pressed on White/Red Splatter vinyl with coloured card sleeve. With stickers and badges and other puerile stuff. More on my bandcamp: Please log interest in vinyl here and I'll arrange a special PFM discount code.

You can buy the download here for £1 apiece. Registration for preorders of the vinyl will follow in a week or so when I get mastering approved. It will not hosted be on any streaming services anywhere. Not going there.

I will always have the deepest admiration for anyone musically capable, no matter what their musical bent. I am only able to appreciate, not participate, one of life's deepest regrets.

:)
………...it's on the list...………..

You can regard this as registration of interest BTW.

For radio I could do a special edit (which needed to be done anyway) and use that opportunity to take the occasional swear word out... Things have’t changed that much since since 1977.

Good first day response: Woke up to hate mail because Americans especially don’t like Rise Up’s middle 8, I’m being accused of “being a socialist”... Just socialist? If only they knew...

Next target = TERFs.

Let me get this out of the way and i’lll be back to playing live with this and other merch for sale at gigs. I just finished a small 5 date solo support set in mostly empty rooms in Scotland, playing to ~5 people. More bandmembers/organisers than audiences. It was awesome. Just my kind of gig to be honest.

Mastering say It’s tricky getting Rise Up! on 7”/45rpm without sacrificing LF energy. I considered making the radio edit canonical but… nah. 7”/33.3rpm isn’t great either. Next size up is 10”/45rpm: w/upscale/redesigned art/splatter/card stock/downloads/stickers/badges etc plus room for a maxi single even EP. 10” is a weird & cool format, it adds about £1.50 per unit to the package.

Candidates nearly completed. 2 weeks work I reckon. “Oh my god the cis are at it again” leaves Banjo/fiddle dubs to get down for “No ordinary life” was going to be the second single, but I think newer songs down the line may be stronger for singles. Making a consistent coherent package is important so perhaps go all out for a November EP rather than October single? What you think?

Sounds like you need to go to 10" to get the dynamic you are after. I hope its going to be a nice translucent red colour.

Too long for a 7” single? Bloody prog-rock! ;-)

PS 7” single edit: 2 minutes 30 seconds exactly, cut it dead mid-word if necessary!

Max single length these days is 4:30. I am 30 seconds too long.
White with Red Splatter.

I think brevity comes with simply being better at songwriting but it is what is it.

I was the entire audience at a jazz gig in the 70’s. Some well-known names playing, too. I found it toe-curlingly embarrassing TBH!

Had a few messages: yes Bandcamp was having library issues last night, apparently some tracks were being mixed up and playing out of order. It's all been resolved now.

Thinking of making a video promo for the YouTube types. Live stuff is happening in November
