Christmas Treat.. playing a record

Don't play much vinyl these days given the cost of replacing the Koetsu. Tend to treat it as an occasional treat.
Stuck on a Stockfish Direct Metal Mastercut, recording, pressing top notch and system sounds glorious, shame the actual content is all second rate.
Given the Oracle cost cost me $500, the Koetsu $600 and the Kuma Stogi £300 (+ a tenner to J7 to adapt a linn tonearm base), really makes me wonder what I'm missing by not taking a second mortgage on a new turntable.
LOL

I have always based my hi-fi on the fact that if I hit hard times, I can always resort to a £20 cartridge (using a Dynavector XX2MkII at the moment). I can't ever see a position where I won't be able to run a decent hi-fi of some sort, because I've never got into it so deep that I have to sell any of it to pay of debts.
