Christmas playlist .

I need help putting together a "nice" xmas playlist .

We are having people around for Christmas dinner and there's a couple of them we don't know too well (yet) , I have been told I can't pick the music I like 'cause no one likes it :) . If I leave it to the missus it will be fully of Boney M type schmaltz .

Any suggestions folks ? .

Some of my choices are:

I Believe In Father Christmas - Greg Lake - nice bit of Prokofiev with suitably cynical lyrics
Christmas Song - Jethro Tull - more cynicism - not to be confused with Another Christmas Song by the same artist, which is altogether more upbeat
Happy Christmas, War Is Over - John Lennon
Fairy Tale Of New York - yet more cynicism :)
2000 Miles - The Pretenders

I fully agree. I would add Stop the Cavalry - Jona Lewie

If you're looking for tracks out of the norm, try these
Emily Hall, Driving home for Christmas
Jamie Cullem Hang the lights
Johnny Mathis It's beginning to look like Christmas
Sixpence None the Richer Carol of the bells
James Taylor River
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Christmas all over again
The Goo Goo Dolls, This is Christmas
The Great British Barber Shop Boys, Let it snow
The Shins, Wonderful Christmas time
Oh Wonder This Christmas
Hopefully there's something among that lot to please the Mrs
Mac
