Chris Barber RIP

I have to admit I had no idea he was still alive, but he certainly left quite a mark on the early UK jazz scene. RIP.

Some of the first jazz I heard would have been my dad playing Barber and Colyer when I was a nipper. RIP

I have 'The Skiffle Sessions'. I also recall a successful album called 'Ball, Barber and Bilk'.
Chris Barber, Humphrey Lyttleton, Acker Bilk, Bob Wallis, Mike Cotton, Ken Colyer, et. al.were all heroes in my youth.

A sad loss, but a good innings.
R.I.P. Chris.

I thought he was moving well with the times then seemed to disappear.

Battersea Rain Dance on the list for tonight in memoriam.

I was never a fan of Trad Jazz but he always came across well & made a significant contribution to our understanding of great music.
