One of the unsung heroes of Brit Jazz & Skiffle, fell out of favour when trad became 'uncool' but not amongst musicians - I have a couple of LPs and CDs that I inherited from my Dad.

Plus he plays on this which is a lot of fun

I have to admit I had no idea he was still alive, but he certainly left quite a mark on the early UK jazz scene. RIP.

Some of the first jazz I heard would have been my dad playing Barber and Colyer when I was a nipper. RIP

I have 'The Skiffle Sessions'. I also recall a successful album called 'Ball, Barber and Bilk'.
Chris Barber, Humphrey Lyttleton, Acker Bilk, Bob Wallis, Mike Cotton, Ken Colyer, et. al.were all heroes in my youth.

A sad loss, but a good innings.
