if you can get the Minstrels in good nick for < £150 then they are very nice.

The bass gets messed up if trying to party volume with EDM or heavy reggae, but otherwise give them space and they sing

I'm looking for cheap floorstanding speakers up to 20cm wide.

The first name that comes to mind is the Royd Minstrel.

Any other suggestions?

As per usual I skim

Royds are near impossible to find spare bas-units while I think Ela's are current stock if its the later Rega made units.

Cheap, and plentifull enough to buy two pairs though.

My spare pair were described as faulty, but just the usual gummed up driver

Best floorstanding speakers with a footprint of 20cm2 you can get for £100 or so is probably going to be a pair of TDL RTL 2s or a slightly more battered pair of Rega Elas.

Probably pick up a pair for £200 without the upgraded stands.
