I have the free version. It is limited to 16 tracks at a time on any album. Does anyone know if the paid /pro version is better and is the 3.99 cost just a one off payment or every month.

It's one-off, and there's no such limitations with the paid version. I've been very pleased with it, for years.

Good grief! I thought I was stingy

My Amazon Fire recently needed a factory reset & I lost all my apps. I bought the paid-for version with alacrity & instantaneously realised how much the track limitation had bugged me previously.

Some of us have very little funds and have to be careful what we spend it's not about being tight or stingy but thanks for pointing that out.My wife lost her job and things are tight but we both enjoy music .So just trying to find the cheapest way to get it.
