Brexit: give me a positive effect (2022 remastered edition) II

There are economic arguments against the EU for sure, but when it comes to democratic accountability, freedom, human rights, civil liberties, employment law and a solid anti-fascist block vote it is a vastly safer place than say the UK with its minority elite rule and vile tabloid-driven right-wing popularist politics.
The main economic argument against the EU is that it is monetarist.

And monetarism is the root of all evil.

Loads of talk about scrapping EU regulations 6 years after the referendum. That could cost the chemical industry around £2bn. What of other sectors? Why are the Tories expecting UK businesses to stump up billions of pounds to replace EU rules (the vast majority of which Britain's businesses support) with UK red tape developed by one of the country's dimmest ever cabinets? And all during a recession.
Birmingham twinned with Bhopal.

Quite like the liberalisation of HGV licenses too. You’re crossing the street and see a road tanker bearing down on you, being driven a a Daily Mail-reading pensioner ( doing their bit) struggling with their steamed up specs and forgetting which one’s the brake pedal.

You're deluded.
It’s not uncommon,

"Earlier this year Jacob Rees-Mogg, the Brexit opportunities minister and one of the most hardline Brexit enthusiasts in the government, tried to persuade colleagues to get the government to commit to getting rid of all retained EU law within four years. He proposed a June 2026 'sunset clause', which would mean all remaining EU regulations (the ones imported into UK law after Brexit) would cease to apply beyond that point, unless an active decision had been taken to retain a UK version. JRM failed - one official said the goal was 'impossible' - and instead JRM announced 'the dashboard' allowing voters to monitor what EU laws were still in place."

Today, Rishi steps up:

"A new Brexit delivery unit. Reviewing every EU law on our statute book. Starting in my first 100 days. Let’s keep Brexit safe."

A note just received from the BDU (Brexit Delivery Unit):
"We regret that due to circumstances within our control, your Brexit delivery #2016 has been postponed because of a lack of qualified drivers. We are working hard to rectify this situation by selecting an alternative delivery management team. We expect the new team to start in September. We will keep you updated as future exciting developments...(etc.) "

" Let’s keep Brexit safe." by making Britain less safe.

Sloganeering at its best. Brexit appears to have delivered absolutely nothing positive to the UK while generating enormous problems. Why would we want to keep it safe ?

Perhaps Labour should run on "Let's kill Brexit" ?

Bit of a none story as (from auto trader):

You can drive a 7.5-tonne lorry with a car licence if it was issued before 1 January 1997. If it was issued after 1997, you can't legally drive a 7.5-tonne truck without applying and passing a C1 licence test.

Brexit needs an enema, it’s all bunged up. Once Hattie Jaques as matron gets a stout hose up there, the benefits of Brexit will shower forth, covering the Shires.
Truss will deliver her new Elizabethan age with Britain once again the minor Tudor backwater off the coast of Europe, having to seek trade deals with not the Ottomans but the Kiwis. Rejoice in the lamb!

Yes really stupid this is even in this thread.
