Yes that is a bugger. If you put it back in the hot water there is a risk you will stop eating eggs. Safest to throw it away and pretend it didn't happen.

I have an electric egg cooker which over a few tries I had managed to achieve the perfect soft boiled egg. Along comes SWMBO who wanted hard boiled for salad and turned it up to max. This is the same SWMBO who turn up the volume on my hi-cap nearly 30 years ago shearing off the knob. Love her to bits

There are salads and then there are great salads, every home should have an egg slicer. Can also be used for fruit, vegetables and other egg sized things.

How do you steam a bastard fried egg ?

Delusional for the first para. For the second, I'm acquainted with a bastard cereal (snap, crackle and no pop) but not with illegitimate chicken fruit.

As to procedure, my wife handles that, I just complain if its hard. Butter on the toast of course.

No. I prefer poached eggs, so I just use a silicone mould in a frying pan.
