Depends on your network strength where the Node will be sited.
If it’s in an equipment rack, with turntables,amps etc around it, that may cut down the wireless signal strength a bit.
So there is no easy definitive answer to this.
I would always prefer a wired connection if possible, but the wireless will work to equal sound quality IF the wireless is good enough.

The 2i is AC wireless compatible if that helps but it all depends on your current wifi setup

I have run mine on both with no dropouts, my router is nearby so I have left it connected to a a spare port.
