Blue Badge alert

I had a bit of a surprise recently when I went to renew my Blue Badge, to find that it may take 9 weeks to renew the Blue Badge. On previous occasions it has been reissued in a less than a weeks.

If this means nothing to you - you are lucky.

I am lucky enough not to need one but a friend of mine does and he has just started the renewal process and, according to him, its become nightmarishly complex.

Unfortunately as is always the way. The scheme has been abused by too many people and now they are having to clamp down on the low lifes who do not/are not entitled to one. Inconveniences all the genuine cases who do need the badge unfortunately.

Took 8 days in Lancashire, but agree the miss use of the badge is widespread.

Especially since its extension to mental disabilities.

the system is far more long winded now in terms of questions.

I would be fudged without my badge.

walking distance - us old crocks can often park closer to the entrance to the shops, then we have more ability to actually do the shoping.
