I have once. Small island and still did 500 miles in 10 days looking around. The kids were unimpressed by the constant wind and up in the hills, our villa did not get nearly enough sunshine until late afternoon. So much better on the coast. Wife is in no hurry to go back.
There were some very nice spots and some very hairy roads up in the North of the Island!
I liked how some villages had traffic lights in the middle for no apparent reason - but they were for traffic calming with sensors picking up cars and then deliberately red-lighting to slow you down. Many villages over here could use the same technique.
Best surprise - the quality of the local wines - brilliant, but hard and expensive to find over here.
