Best way to cut an IEC inlet shaped hole in a Popely case?

Any one see Kevin McCloud's programme last night where he was playing with a thermic lance? Looks like that should do the job OK.
 
Well whilst I can see the appeal of explosives I don't really have the expertise or licence to play with them,

Chisel sounds interesting and I bet it would work but I'm going to try the coping saw approach I think since I don't happen to have an anvil to hand.
 
It is the most tedious job in DIYing IMO.

I find drilling holes and then sawing through between them with filing to finish is as good as any.

A cold chisel will cause distortion so be careful, I sometimes use one after chain drilling to cut the webs.
