Arcam Alpha 5 CD Player Distorted Analogue Output

I have the same problem and was assuming the problem is a capcacitor but have just checked the digital out and the audio is as clear as a bell. So is the problem still likely to be a capacitor?
 
The digital ouput is derived from the SAA7220 and has nothing to do with the TDA1541. The SAA7720 also runs off a different raw power supply to the DAC.
 
Thanks to the excellent advice here I now have a fully operational unit after replacing all the caps suggested by Mike. £30 from a guy I know locally who's a dab hand at all sorts of repair.
 
And just to add, I have a number of unused new caps left over should anyone want them for a nominal sum plus postage - see below. Stock numbers are from RS.
