If you look carefully at the photo, there are electrical safety standard logos on the fuse end caps, that I don't think a flammable wax filled fuse could meet.

What's with the grubby capacitors? Maybe cleaning them will make them sound better. OP, are you going to fit better wiring next too? Or maybe some pure copper screws instead of the steel ones?

You should have done, at least that might have made a difference to his sound. Even if the material didn't the differing thicknesses would change his VTA and he'd certainly hear that.

Bloody boutique fuses, US $225 each, I'm in the wrong business. Should be manufacturing fairy dust and writing flowery copy.
