Any Buchardt A500 users?

The update was released today

The big update
This is something we know many have been waiting for! We have as well. Today, the new update version 479 would be released for autoupdate. Your hub would within the next hours/day do an update, so be sure not to take the power while it starts this process.

All mastertunings is also updated on our website now, so you are required to install the new mastertunings into the speakers for everything to work optimally. Find these under our download section on the website. (Legacy is still be available)
Big changes are following :
- New Google cast update version 1.52 : The current Gcast version (Chromecast) have multiple known stability issues which have been resolved.
- Dropout fix (requires the new Mastertunings installed) : To fix this, we needed to do channel selection (left/right settings) from the hub, instead of on the speakers. This means you no longer can press the parring button on the back of the speakers to swap channels. This shall now be done from the new App, or via the remote (new setup video in the works to showcase).
- XLR sensitivity (requires the new Mastertunings) : To avoid standby, doing low volume playback.
- Preparations for the new App.
- New volume curve to increase volume steps within the normal volume area.
- 100 steps volume settings (only via the app based remote)
- Tons of smaller general improvements and bug fixes for the Platin hub.
- Sound improvements for A500 : Significant sound improvements and better high SPL capabilities on all tunings. (Does not include "Theoretical" tunings)
- All new Mastertunings for A700 : Massively improved overall sound quality along with much better high SPL capabilities. (Does not include "Theoretical" tunings)
We have made a temporarily video showcasing the remote channel selection setup if you need to change left/right settings. (requires the new mastertunings installed).

edit: no idea why I’m getting the double quote...

A lot of these companies are pretty new and small, what is chance they will still be around and able to support the products in 5 - 10 years.
This is true for just about every audiophile company. Almost all are small. Many are dependent on one visionary. No assurance they will stay around long term or if the founder kicks the bucket at a young age.
If you are really concerned about that, go with a company that's part of a big corporation - some audiophile brands are owned by big corporations (e.g. Technics, TEAC. McIntosh Group, Harman own multiple brands). As long as the divisions make money, they will probably stay around.

True.

However I think the difference is that with more ‘traditional’ audio such as passive speakers, a non-streaming, non-roomcorrection amp, CD player etc the tech is pretty simple. It doesn’t need any updating during it’s lifetime, it is pretty simple and reliable technology, and if it is broken it can probably be repaired by any decent technician. So your risk if the company goes out of business is limited, and you can probably even keep on using the product fine after the manufacturer is gone.

With these ‘new’ components we see that much of the performance, functionality and even fault resolving is very dependent on the manufacturer being around and supporting the product through software updates, new hardware modules etc. So therefore I think that the longevity of the manufacturer is now a bigger concern than before.
