Amp & Speaker Pairing

Hi All,

Will my Avondale M130 monos drive a pair of Dynaudio contour 1.8 MKII Speakers ?

I'm not sure if the amp is suitable / capable as the speakers are 4 ohms

I'm using Grad 1 preamp with Naim Hicap 2

An email to Avondale would get you an accurate answer.

I don't see why not. Just suck it and see. The Avondale amps are an improvement on the Naim circuit and a 250 can easily drive 4 Ohms think Sara and Briks.

I'd say yes based on using a Nap250 and Contour 1.1's. They are speakers that benefit from better amplification but I'd have thought the Avondales would have no problems driving them.

I lived with 1.8 ll's for many years driven by a Pioneer A400 so I would imagine the Avondales would be a good option.

The Dynaudios like quality amps with good current delivery but are not overly demanding - in fact I think they are a friendly natured speaker.
