I’d like to pay tribute to Brian Kidd who is leaving his role as assistant at Manchester City.

Not many players successfully cross the divide and play for both clubs.

No others have ever then gone on to be assistant managers at both clubs.

And what a record!

No other assistant manager can have been as successful as Kiddo was at United then at City.

Thanks for everything Brian.

hear, hear

I was thinking more of someone who might be capable of winning you a major trophy.
I'm not sure Ole is capable of that despite spending huge amounts of dosh.
Last trophy 4 years ago courtesy of José - no pressure.;)

Frank has re-appeared...on the Beeb. You have to feel a little sorry for him - first shafted by his old club and now shifting uncomfortably on a sofa next to Gary et al.

As for trophies, we do have a few already, particularly League titles. Clear air between us and Chelsea on that front (and the nation-state posing as a football team for that matter). Remember, there are only two big clubs in this country ;). And as for Ole, he, like semi-final specialist Southgate, is on the up.

PS Not seen a lot about Chelsea in the transfer market - will the club be signing a Werner replacement or are we witnessing an early trailer of Kepa: 2?

I don't feel sorry for Frank - why would I?
What has been achieved (with the same group of players) since Tuchel arrived at the club proves conclusively that Frank was not doing a very good job and the club acted on that fact.
What Frank deserves credit for is bringing the youngsters through and I'm sure the club will feel the benefit of that for many years to come
I hope Ole stays at United for many years to come.:)

Next season will be interesting but I think United will struggle to do better than 4th behind City/Chelsea/Liverpool.

PS Chelsea will only buy players that improve on what they've already got as opposed to buying more of the same.;)
You need to look at the wider picture regarding Werner - clearly he needs to improve in front of goal but he weighed in with many assists and it was telling that Tuchel continued picking him for all the big games - defenders hate pace & he has it in abundance.

How was he shifting? He seemed quite comfortable and more than capable of offering incisive observation and examination. His analysis of Declan Rice’s role for England was revealing and original

Feel free to have a pop at Chelsea’s manager turnover, but no need to try to belittle a legend with nonsense

Thought you were banging on about trophies? How many League titles again? ;)

I know Chelsea have a reputation for churning through managers (for KS's benefit) but the club could have been a little more respectful of one of their own legends (which is was what my post was about) but this is modern Chelsea - run by an oligarch/shady money and supported by various PF champagne socialists :D

As for TW - he was bought to score goals. He's lost some confidence (but could use Kane as inspiration there), is played out of position too often, and the team don't provide enough chances for him to score, though he's not taking the chances he gets, and back to the loss of confidence we come. £47m and counting. How much time does TW need?

You've got the wrong end of the stick there, but kudos for supporting Frank.

I thought it was only Liverpool fans that liked to bang on about their history - clearly not.;)

As for TW
If I were a United fan I'd be more concerned about poser Pogba (how long's he been at United?). - it was like watching a different player in the Euros.

I'll have a little bet with you that the next trophy United win will be after clueless Ole has left the building - unless of course you manage to prise the massive Coca Cola Cup away from the noisy neighbours.;)
For a club spending as much as United 4 years is an awfully long time to be winning nothing.

Looks like Viera has an impossible job.
Palace have released 20 players, including 11 first team squad members who were at the end of contracts!

I hope he's given funds to build something, decent club with great home support.. shame if it all goes down the pan?

Who’s banging on about winning trophies?

…not me…

Only reason they were released is because they use to bugger off together to collect their o.a.p pensions at the local post office during training!

Frank only bought young players in as he had a free hit with the transfer ban, fair play to Mount who took his chance and shined.

Everyone said the same about the 20/21 season, that United would struggle behind City/Liverpool/Chelsea, so what happened? Obviously it was not the managerial expertise of Ole, or the overrated and expensive squad.

United buying Sancho, apparently in for Varane and a midfield target in Rice or Camavinga, seems pretty solid business to me. Personally I'd like to see Pogba go, superb talent but just does not fit the system, thrives off the left of a midfield 3 with a solid Defensive Midfielder to sit in behind and tidy up, worked well with Matic a few years ago before his legs went.
Tom Heaton on a free to take the 2nd Keeper slot is good business to, Romero off the books and hopefully De Gea on loan somwhere with an option to buy. I can't see us starting the season with both DeGea and Henderson, neither will want to be spending at least half the year on the bench.

PSG are now flirting with Pogba. I'm sure his lovely agent is very excited. Re: your claim - see my previous post re: Pogba France vs Pogba United. You might want to source the recent 'chat' between Pogba and his French team mates btw - clearly they are not impressed.

If you look at spending over the last five seasons you will see Chelsea ahead of Man U. Our money though is let's just say 'cleaner' and not sourced by a Russian oligarch, but that may not bother you (like Frank). We can talk about trophies some more if you'd like but Chelsea are also-rans in the trophy department. When do you think Chelsea will catch up? And when do you think we can talk about Chelsea's history in such glowing terms as United's (and Liverpool's)? Even City are racing ahead of Chelsea on that front. If not, then there are other topics - the diving problem at Chelsea or maybe the 150 FIFA rule violations, or even Pulisic's recent fishing trip.

Nice to hear that the Man U owners are nice and clean. Man U fans must be so happy with their owners treating the club like a cash point
