The idea of judging a club as the best on the basis of trophy wins to my mind is nonsense in particular when you carry Heysel and coach stoning of another club on your cv, best club for example is just as likely to be Burnley, Southend or Rochdale.

this could be 5-5 looking at the defences today.. LFC missing Fabinho but credit to LUFC, they're fearless

Lucky win for LFC. Great start for Salah, but the entire team looked disorganized for most of the match.

Leeds has good team speed, and several very capable players. Are they the next big thing, or this year’s Norwich? Will be fun to watch how they do.

So Liverpool are on track for finishing top of the Premier League. Salah's shortish hair looks a bit weird, but you can't argue with his hat-trick.

Two of the biggest mistakes Chelsea have made in the last decade - apart from buying in a gazillion expensive, second-rate players - was transferring Salah and Kevin De Bruyne.

Mendy skipped training with Rennes yesterday and has been left out of the squad. The goalkeeper could be on the way to Chelsea for £25 million.

Giroud isn't interested in Juventus, which is cheering. He says the story is rubbish and he's looking forward to a partnership with Timo Werner. metro

Let's see what happens on Monday.

Jack

Good start for Utd away to Utd yesterday evening at the London stadium.

Good team selection by SB and debut goals for CW and JH. A couple of the players were wearing yellow boots, which make you run faster.

I noticed CW has 2 legs and a foot at the end of each, so he can run and has some speed, he can also get one of those legs 6’ in the air, which was handy for the first goal, a cracking stretch for that one, the southern softies keeper was a bit of a coward. The effort by JH wasn’t bad, as Sourness said after the game, no backlift but at least the keeper moved.

DM for the cockney whinging losers looked as miserable as usual. ASM with his orange boots was a target for the cockney hackers, he was the most fouled player in the PL yesterday and 2 of the scruffs got a deserved yellow from the ref. DM had his usual complaint about the ‘officiating’ but he has to excuse selecting 3 x DM’s for an opening fixture at home.

For those amongst us who've never heard of any of your players (that'll be almost everyone) could you post properly in future please - TYVM & TTFN.:)

Good to see VAR being used properly in Palace v Saints game. Ref initially gave a red card, but got a whisper in the ear and went over to the pitch side monitor and changed it to a yellow.

Perhaps those fat men in suits at the FA have finally listened to sense?

That’s a good use of VAR. In the Utd v Utd game yesterday, the wrong player was given a yellow for another foul on ASM, a few seconds later and the ref changed it to a yellow for the player who actually did commit the assault.

Agreed - although for me (as Mick Channon used to say:)) it would have been better still if he'd kept his cards in his pocket and then made a decision after he'd looked at the monitor.
But progress (at last) nonetheless.

The FCB has splashed a bit of cash to keep NUFC up. I was gutted to be genuinely pleased about the result.

Salah looked rather sharp. Leeds will stay up nee bother if they continue in that manner.

Leeds pretty much what I expected, poor at set pieces just like last season, but we will attempt to play the right way. Will struggle against teams that sit in and just try and counter.
Be fun though.
