All 92 Diamond-Certified Albums Ranked from Worst to Best

What kept DSOTM off the number one spot on its release then?

It was a very slow burner and stayed in the middle to lower range of the charts for many years. Never a ‘hit’, just an album so many millions of people across the world discovered in their own good time. With the exception of the ‘Another Brick In The Wall’ single they were never a pop band so played by different rules. The Led Zep stuff will be the same, very consistent long-term sellers, never ‘hits’. All still selling in vast numbers today. From a muso perspective this is exactly what you want to create as it provides a steady income for life.
