Affinity have just issued a free update to their software suite including Publisher (for Zines) and Photo version 1.9
Also available to purchase currently at 50% discount this just might be the best value photo editing software on offer especially as it is not subsciption based. I use Photo for the things Capture One doesn't include like panorama stitching & focus stacking but it seems to offer a viable alternative to other well known options if starting from scratch
