A thread to catalogue the eloquence, dignity, diplomacy and wisdom of Boris Johnson III

What are the bets that the Tories will announce their "solution" to the cost of living crisis to coincide with the release of the Sue Gray report?
...and it will probably be some variation on Labour's proposal for a Windfall Tax on the energy companies.

Openly authoritarian/fascist official Conservative PR attacking LDs and Labour for opposing their draconian police state protest legislation (Twitter). We are where we are.

PS Excellent thread from Russ ‘The Week In Tory’ Jones on how far our political system has shifted beyond honour and integrity (Twitter).

This probably pre-dates the resignation of Dame Dick but the final tally of fines for No 10 doesn't and shows how keen the "Met" is to clean up it's act, they are no better than Mafia enforcers, in fact they are worse because they are meant to protect the public and uphold the law.

insiders who were at some of the events ... describe arriving for work the morning after a get-together to find bottles lying around parts of the building, bins overflowing with rubbish and empties left on the table ... they say staff mocked others who tried to stop what was going on.

The insiders admit that events were routine. "They were every week," one says. "The event invites for Friday press office drinks were just nailed into the diary." The invitation was known as "WTF" - meaning "Wine-Time Friday" and a reference to a less polite acronym.

Another insider describes how a custodian, a Downing Street security guard, was mocked when they tried to stop a party in full flow "I remember when a custodian tried to stop it all and he was just shaking his head in this party, being like, 'This shouldn't be happening'.""People made fun of him because he was so worked up that this party was happening and it shouldn't be happening."

What a loser. Imagine expecting people to follow the rules. Like the thousands who said goodbye to dying family members over a Zoom call on a hospital iPad.

Why wouldn't they party? They were celebrating scamming the country.

I wonder how many Government insiders set up sham companies to steal Covid money? Now written off and never to be investigated.

It looks like Johnson’s behaviour may be too much for even Laura Kuenssberg. The BBC have some No.10 whistle-blowers in an exclusive at 7:00pm tonight, pretty damning clip here (Twitter).
Laura, always late to the party when it involves criticising a Tory Prime Minister. Have we found out if she was at any?

I suspect that is why some of the right wing media have been dancing on the head of a pin about this. Why have a press office if there aren't one or two representatives of the supine press present? Some journos can smell alcohol from as far as Canary Wharf.

Does anyone really believe Laura K, Harry Cole and all the usual sycophants in the press knew nothing about these parties?
One of biggest learnings from this farrago, as if we don't know it already, was how shit most of our media is, and the extent to which many have been co-opted by the Tories.

To his supporters, it is just another reason to say, 'Not this again, let's get on with running the country.' It is the fact that he and the Conservative party continue to carry any support whatsoever, after more than a decade of absolute failure, that is the most damning.
