... what exactly is the benefit of using valves to regulate and smooth the power supply? An example of this implementation is in Glenn Crofts 25R and Power 7R.
The non R version don't have valve regulation, just valves where I expect them to be at the amplification stages (and not caressing the power supply).
I'm not criticising because his amps sound brilliant - I just don't see many implementation by other manufactures using valve regulation in the power supply thats all.
