Hi All

My Garrard is in need of a service and the idler wheel is black with wear.

Would anyone have any tips how I could clean this up or anything else I can do other than re-oiling the felt pad around the spindle?

I'm smartening up the plinth so while it's all in bits any help with servicing ideas would be much appreciated.

Some would start with a clean inside of the turntable rim with carbon tet or whatever it is called these days and some would say you could do the same to the idler wheel... however if you remove the circlip holding the idler wheel in place you can use gentler soap and water on its edge

The garrard instructions for changing the spindle oil are quite easily followed and found on google.

subtler dismantling stuff will maybe follow and is on the various hifi forums
