Next door to the USB connections on your pc are mini jacks for analogue audio in and analogue audio out. Therefore I wouldn't expect any analogue signal to be carried on a USB cable.

Now that Computer audio has entered the High End its not unexpected that cable manufacturers have followed suit. Peoples are never happy using cheap cables with expensive gear. It just doesn't look right.
