They were excellent at the Bristol show. Easily one of my favourite experiences there.

If you can live with the retro looks, the new Fyne Classic 8 and Classic 10 are hard to beat for the money.

I am looking at Fyne, but the retro look doesnt do much for me unfortunately. Thx for the suggestion though

heard them at bristol and they were good but wouldnt make me part with the tannoy eatons which can outdo many floorstanders imho

Martin Logan f100, or the Kef r11 meta. They would be my starting point, have seen very good reviews of both.

Modern designs definitely for me but not funky, within the bounds of traditional please!
Finish not so important, maybe wood or black, not so fussed, just want them to sound good!
Biwiring not important

You should have lots to choose from then, I guess you just need to do a bit of research looking at what's on offer in your price range and what you can get to listen too, maybe attend a show or two, have a couple of demo, etc
