I am a bit of a microphone fan, having a range of models from a £135 AKG to a £515 Neumann.
I’ve discovered that some old mics. are as good, if not better, than modern models.
Many of which are now made in China.
To own a German microphone, the makers of which would never have their models made overseas, is

I believe Schoeps is still a family owned business and many of their small number of employees have worked there for decades. They still offer capsules and accessories for microphones 50+ years old.

As you might be aware AKG sadly shut down all their Austrian facilities and moved production to the far-east after they were acquired by Harmon/Samsung a few years back.

Actually sounds pretty useful as an effect, I can imagine using that in a studio scenario!
