My Nakamichi DR-8 needs a service. Any recommendations for someone in the London area?

No, however maybe approach Graham’s Hi-Fi and see if they can put you in touch with anyone.

A general internet foray will lead to a few names, can’t vouch for them as I used to go to B&W.

My best advice is to sign up at www.tapeheads.net then make an introduction and conduct a search from there.
