Tannoy Red Corner GRFs

Very cool speakers.

But not quite a pair - one is a 1cm taller cabinet with a later driver, and a different colour veneer.

I remember seeing those before, and always thought that the paint on the backing cap looked iffy to other red Tannoy drivers i had seen, would be interested in what other fishies think.

Potentially legit, but hard to authenticate. As I understand it there was still a demand for Reds well into the Gold-era. Mainly for studios wanting replacement drivers or spare speakers to swap-in. As such they are a Gold basket (note they are beige, not grey hamertone) and have a red painted Gold-era plastic magnet cap, but kitted out with Red bass cones and crossovers. The problem is they’d be fairly easy to fake, though I doubt there is any real financial advantage in doing so, especially now given the price of spare cones. They won’t carry the same high price-tag as earlier Reds.
