[WTD] Cheap as chips amplifier

One of my friends lost all his audio gear in divorce and he can't afford to buy anything now as he is saving every penny to buy a place for himself to live.
I just gave him a pair of my old Cerwin Vega AT-20 speakers and now looking for an amp for him.
Please let me know if you have got something collecting dust in your garage.
Suffolk would be very convenient.

I have a CD player if needed. Nothing special, JVC I think, not sure, but plays ok. Got it off Freecycle while I sorted the Cyrus laser.
