The Studio speakers are a stunning addition to any room. Featuring technologies from Monitor Audio’s range-topping Platinum II series, they offer a truly high-end listening experience that will delight even the most demanding ears!

The grille-less design ensures the speaker’s voice is clear and true and lets the drivers become an eye-catching focal point. The two metallic-silver RDT II speaker cones deliver an optimum high-end performance that will delight audiophiles. The honeycomb tweeter cover adds a contemporary edge to the speaker’s form and the bespoke solid-metal logo at the cabinet’s base gives a stylish design touch.

Hand-crafted and available in a sleek satin black, white or grey finish, Studio are a timelessly elegant pair of speakers. To ensure a superlative performance an optional black or white dedicated floor stand (STAND) is available.

Studio Driver Design -

Studio’s dual 4" drivers are modified versions of those used in Monitor Audio’s flagship Platinum PL500 II speaker. Their sound is clear and natural, with a deep bass and plenty of mid-range detail.

The drivers are designed to be incredibly low in distortion and use the same magnetic design principles and material choice as the class-leading Platinum speakers. An MPD (Micro Pleated Diaphragm) high frequency transducer has been designed to provide incredible articulation due to its low mass diaphragm. MPD transducers work in the same way as a super-fast accordion by rapidly squeezing the pleats to produce a smooth, wide and naturally fast response way into the ultra-sonic band. As a result, the sound is more lifelike, releasing the high harmonic spectrum of every note without the distortion that blurs definition.

Studio Mechanical and Visual design -

Studio’s elegant cabinet is tuned using two rear mounted HiVe II ports at the top and bottom of the cabinet. The dual ports ensure the pressure inside the cabinet is symmetrically balanced and that there is no turbulence and subsequent air noise. HiVe II technology ensures air moves in and out much quicker than a conventional port, resulting in fast, powerful bass coupled with superior transient response.

High-grade polypropylene film capacitors, air-core and laminated steel-core inductors have been selected to preserve the best possible signal integrity. The purist electrical chain is complemented by a pair of precisely machined terminals developed for the Platinum Series. These are rhodium plated to provide the lowest contact resistance and long-term consistency.

The drivers are surrounded and clamped by a rigid die-cast aluminium sub-baffle to provide rigidity. The mechanical structure is enhanced further using renowned bolt- through driver technology to provide the ultimate cabinet bracing.

Monitor Audio's new Gold 200 loudspeakers are at Musicraft (Derby)

The Gold 200 is the most compact floorstander in the series. As with our other Gold stand mount and floorstanding speakers, it combines the driver technology of our Platinum II flagship speakers and beautiful cabinetry to stunning effect.

A more compact floorstander, the Gold 200 nevertheless delivers full-scale performance. Its three-way design features two 6½" (165 mm) RDT II bass drivers beneath a 2½" (64 mm) C-CAM mid-range driver with a MPD high-frequency transducer module, backed up by dual rear-firing HiVe II ports.

All but the largest rooms will benefit from Gold 200’s remarkably tight and textured bass response, deftly informative mid-range and smooth high-frequency attack. Regardless of volume or your listening position, Gold 200’s powers of communication will move you.

The definition of elegance

The cabinet design on Platinum Series 3G is all new. Beautifully detailed and expertly crafted, our industry-leading attention to detail and passion for quality ensures that each cabinet is elegant and refined on the eyes, while being engineered for total acoustic performance.

Constructed using laminated layers of MDF to form a curved and braced super rigid 18-21mm cabinet on the rear with a 36mm thick baffle precision machined to create a unique curved front profile. The cabinets are then embellished with etched inlays to highlight the craftsmanship, before 16 layers of lacquer are added on top to create a beautiful, luxury piano gloss finish. A pure satin matte finish is applied to models finished in white - a contemporary statement in any interior.

Platinum Series 3G

Pinpoint accuracy for lifelike sound​

New MPD III high frequency transducer. The improvements help to reduce distortion and flatten the frequency response leading to a clear and consistent sound across all your music.

Precision perfect​

The Rigid Diaphragm Technology III (RDT III) cone has three new optimisations over its predecessor. Firstly, a new rear layer featuring two uniform layers of carbon fibre skin helps reduce cone breakup, as does an optimised rubber surround. Finally, an optimised cone edge treatment extends the passband of the drivers. When combined, these innovations significantly increase the useable bandwidth, enabling improvements to the crossover and final response of the speaker. The result: Platinum 3G mid and bass drivers boast the lowest distortion of any Monitor Audio speaker in its history.

Clever design is more than skin deep​

Platinum series has always represented Monitor Audio’s engineering and design prowess and the 3rd generation is no exception. Our UK based design team have worked closely with the acoustic team to deliver an aesthetic which celebrates the performance components without overpowering its surroundings.

Aluminium Driver Frames​

The drivers on the Platinum Series 3G are held in place with individually cast aluminium frames, creating two layers of isolation between the driver chassis and the cabinet.

New Outrigger Feet​

The new Platinum outrigger foot assemblies have been precision engineered to form a solid platform for the floorstanding speakers while presenting a more elegant aesthetic compared to a cumbersome plinth.
