Ukraine V

No, I voted Corbyn. We’re you one of those Corbyn haters that have us Johnson?
Johnson, though terrible in every other way, was right (IMHO) in his leading stance on Ukraine, which historically will probably be looked back on as the most crucial event of the early part of this century. Corbyn on the other hand would have been the ideal choice for Putin....

In a way that's weird luck. Trump, on the other hand, is terrible in every way, including on Ukraine.

2024 US election should be lots of fun!

In one sense Trump was probably correct that the invasion of Ukraine would not have happened in 2022 if he'd remanded President. Putin would probably have waited until Trump had caused more material damage to NATO.

Warmongers and arm dealers never lose the US elections, it's a matter of culture!
Trump wing of the Republican party is running on "no money for Ukraine, let's give their land to our friend, Putin." That seems to be your position in a nutshell, though you are ultra shy and embarrassed to publicly state it.

In this case, this "warmonger" votes Democratic, while you, an avowed supporter of "peace," line up with reactionary Republicans (along with their friend, Putin). Go figure...

yourself a warmonger

Serbia, and as it seems also you, seek, provoke and dream escalation and more direct involvement to serve your local escalation interests in Kosovo with Wagner lined up on the borders.
Serbia has a contract with Russia on foreign policy alignment, wants chaos to be able to initiate more genocide, supports Russia openly (unfortunately goes for an alarming portion of the population), recruits and keeps all channels open to facilitate Russia.
But this is nothing new and let’s be clear who the warmongers are.

Interesting that at the start of this thread merely asking if escalation of the conflict was a bad idea that would lead to more casualties was an idea met with hostility and accusations of being a Putin apologist, yet now escalation was a bad thing all along?

Found these two quotes quite illuminating:

'The centrist SSP opposition party said “it is incredible” that at a time when most of the world is apprehensively watching Moscow’s actions, Serbia signed an agreement to consult with a country “that directly violates the U.N. Charter and intends to annex the (Ukrainian) territory.”'

'Serbia is important for Russia as a way to destabilize the Balkans and potentially shift part of the world’s attention from the war in Ukraine.'

On the other side of the debate from the last item I posted, here is an article from "Foreign Policy" urging a massive increase, both in quantity and capability, of weapons and aid supplied to Ukraine. A leading reason is the suggestion that Biden will not retain public approval unless the war progresses toward a Russian defeat. The writer fears that in the event of stalemate, the political opponents of aid will succeed. The politics of war are not pretty.
