A Thread for New Jazz

I'm enjoying the new Snarky Puppy album, "Empire Central", but it's definitely too long. A few great SP pieces though, with this one being a highlight:

Can’t not buy the London Brew. In an act of total insanity I’ve sprung for one of the ten test pressings at sixty bleedin’ quid (£66 delivered). That is, by far, the most I’ve ever spent on a new record.
I'll be getting mine from the local Indie - Maroon vinyl apparently

FORMAT UPC CAT # VERSION
CD 0888072458697 7245869 Standard 2CD
LP 0888072458741 7245874 Black Standard 2LP
LP 0888072514270 7251427 Indies + HMV (Maroon) 2LP

Thanks for the heads up Engels. I've gone for the plain black LP. I still don't trust coloured vinyl to be as quiet as black.

Thanks! Blue vinyl pre-ordered from the Concorde shop. Rough Trade have a red vinyl copy with print limited to 500 copies but it's almost a tenner more.

Bit unusual for me, but thought I’d have a go.

Juno appear to have the maroon/500 for a bit cheaper than Rough Trade.

First release for a new label, Clonmell Jazz Social...

Nurture The Child / Challenge The Adult by guitarist Harry Christelis.

The project brings to mind the Fourth Worlds of Jon Hassell, the oceanic exploration of Miles Davis, the deep space of ECM, and the remote, avant-pop lighthouse scan of late Talk Talk. (bandcamp)

Full stream here at (the excellently-named) It’s Psychedelic Baby, in advance of next week’s release.
