Real Ale...

One beer that I rarely see on cask is Bass...

But down to Beaumaris on Wednesday for a good few nights and 2 pubs there will have it on cask

Curry half n half and a pint of Bass... Perfic

Bottled Old Hooky, nowhere near as good as the real thing. From the cask Old Hooky or ordinary Hooky Best Bitter are probably my favourites.

Local ale…Wye Valley Brewery. Best on draught but bottles well.

I had one of those last week, after an eight-hour hike through border country. Only three-quarters of it survived the thirty-second hike to my seat outside.

Just remembered I've some Christmas ales from Booths in the garage too...

Just spugged them in the fridge

One of them is a stout called Lump of Coal. 7.8% :D

Fond memories of this (the Bass). Fifty years ago mind. The other stand out at the time( in cornwall) was Hicks Special. The myth was you were drunk before you saw the bottom of its pint glass…. Good to see St Austell brewery is still going strong. I’m in Cornwall so it’s products may be more prominent here.

I suspect the fine distinctions between ales will become just a memory for a few years. Deffo a first world problem.
I can live with Stella Artois and Guinness if it’s gets really rough….
