Not sure if is the right thread for it, but there is a public duty to point out that #DrawMichaelFabricant is a thing.
or “Fabbers” as wife- beating drunk driver Guido Fawkes affectionately calls him. He’s a Tory national treasure.
Call Me Dave managed to keep their casket lids nailed firmly shut when he was leader, now they’re bloody cavorting in broad daylight.

One of Britain's foremost experts on lockdown rules and legality wonders why the Johnson wasn't fined https://twitter.com/AdamWagner1/status/1528757217767346177

I would imagine the answer is cos the Johnson and the Met exchanged funny handshakes when the investigation began.

The No.10 lie machine is already getting the smears in ( the DM, front page, as if they’ve nothing better to report on) against Gray ahead of her report’s publication but plucky Boris “just wants to get it all out in the open so he can move on”. That’s the summation of his political and personal life- just move on- from one set of lies, deception, failure, to the next one or to the the next photo opportunity, false promise, party slogan.

They can’t even get their lies straight!-

This morning Simon Clarke, the chief secretary to the Treasury who was doing the morning interview round on behalf of the government, said he thought Sue Gray had instigated the meeting with Boris Johnson a few weeks ago at which the Partygate report was discussed. (See9.22am.)

But at the lobby briefing today the PM’s spokesperson admitted that Downing Street had instigated the meeting. He said earlier this month there had been contact, at official level, between No 10 and Gray’s team to discuss a meeting. Asked who suggested the meeting, he replied: “No 10 officials.”

That is the problem with lying, remembering what lies you've told and given this government tells so many it's not hard to see why they keep coming unstuck. The problem is there is nothing any of us can really do about it.

Surely not? We’ve taken back control, innit.

Trump demonstrated the rules of the New Game. Which are:
1. Lie as frequently as possible so people can't keep up.
2. Accuse your opponents of anything you yourself are doing wrong.
3. Recruit a team based on personal fealty to you; rather than talent/honesty or any of those old boring, and dangerous, attributes.
4. Throw said team members under the bus at frequent intervals to deflect criticism, and ensure loyalty from other team members.
5. Threaten anyone who isn't as crooked as you are.

Love it when he does the Tommy Cooper,

Not like that, like that, see,

Salute to the team!

Not surprised he denied it, probably has no recollection of it whatsoever.

Boris Johnson suggested Sue Gray should drop her full report given police investigation during secret meeting earlier this month, Times told

He is said to have asked her if there was much point in publishing it given that ‘it’s all out there’

Some interesting comments from Marr’s show on LBC where an ex-police Deputy Commissioner makes some pretty damning comments re: the Met (Twitter). The Lib Dems have also written to the IOPC demanding an investigation into Met conduct on this investigation (Twitter).

The more time goes on the more it appears that the Met is fundamentally corrupt and partisan as well as being institutionally racist and misogynistic. I’m sure there are many decent serving officers in the ranks, but as an entity it is on the wrong side of just about every major event these days. This all the more worrying given the ongoing erosion of our basic human rights and civil liberties by Johnson’s alt-right Conservative Party including obviously our most basic right to protest. Scary times.
