Johnny Marr - Call The Comet

Haven't listened to that in many many YEARS. Great choice.

gave up after a couple of tracks - going to try on a different deck - sounded narrow.

Problem is partly due to listening to highly dynamic 7”ers most of the day.
partly the mastering? Dunno. will try the album again tomorrow.

I understand exactly what you are saying. I'm lucky that my mindset, with vinyl (particularly first pressings), is that it is of its time, it is what it is.

The atmosphere / recording / authenticity is part of the music experience.

those who know at least half of the lyrics, take a bow

“deep down in her pocket she finds fifty pee…”
I’ve always loved that line. In what is essentially a British Isles Springsteen pastiche it’s great to hear rather than ‘a coupla dimes...’

IMO, that Album is far from 2D, great production /. recording. Maybe not in the mood ? :)

I think I have had this before, I loved it in the 80’s for about 2 or 3 years, the dancing club time, then it was wrong for decades. Unplayed. Picked it from upstairs a few years ago, and disappointed then.
I am going to deep clean it (it is spotless) and try another deck.

Maybe I enjoyed it more when I had treble/bass and a loudness button?
let’s not he sentimental.
If all else fails,I will stick on a pair of headphones and see what’s what.

Personally, I find that sometimes sentiment defines the music.
