Yep and capitalism is the greatest evil the world has ever known.
Yeah, just look at the communist era, Stalin, Lenin - true heroes
How many millions life did they terminate
North Korea, China...wow

The guy in the video above mentioned that the speakers are not receiver happy.I agree with you and had decided for the Lintons. I just need some time to raise money. Until there, some opinions about the match of the receiver are welcome. Thanks for that
I can't recall mentioning communism... Not that it's ever been properly tried!
Democratic Socialism within which a tightly controlled capitalism is highly taxed in order to meet the needs of the people, all the people, not just the rich ones, is probably the best bet all round.
The climate crisis, over population, starvation, lack of water supplies, lack of basic medical facilities and a good many wars are all caused directly or indirectly by capitalism, a word which basically describes mankind's greed, selfishness. and dog eat dog tendencies.
The guy in the video above mentioned that the speakers are not receiver happy.
And you should look for an amp that stable down to 4 Ohm.
And apart from the guy is certainly trying to sell his crossover upgrades, my impression is he probably knows a bit what he's talking about..so I'd tend to trust him about the 4 Ohms.
What's the brand and type of receiver ?My speakers are 4 ohm. The receiver pushes them well..the only thing that was advised to me is that the receiver would get hot. But for medium temperature it operates 3 hours nicely.
What's the brand and type of receiver ?
Maybe it's possible to research a bit of data about it to find out how well it may suit the Lintons from the impedance ?

I wonder why we have no threads on communist or socialist hi-fi? There was certainly some USSR stuff, but almost always pretty bad copies of western kit, and only within reach of high-ranking party members etc. I’ll happily stick with my capitalist hi-fi and music.
That's true..not everyone who has critical views about total capitalism is automatically a communist by heart.
In my view both those systems are a bit toxic in pure form
and hence a well chosen mix would certainly be a very interesting thing in an ideal world.
Looks quite a decent thing, built between 1977 and 1980.
2x 110 Watts @ 4 Ohm, so looks it should be ok being driven @ 4 Ohm.
Provided it's still everything working fine inside..particularly caps.
I had all my 1974-1979 amps looked though by a good repair shop
and the 1974 one completely restored to risk nothing.
Might not be the worst idea to have it checked at least,
before something goes BOOM & takes the Linton speakers with it.

He comes across as a one-trick-pony on his 'speaker upgrade' videos, but the content he's done on open-baffle speakers and subwoofers is pretty interesting. He is the living embodiment of the phrase, “When all you have is a hammer, every problem is a nail.”
That's one of the quotes that deeply impressed me in the movie 'Arrival'He is the living embodiment of the phrase, “When all you have is a hammer, every problem is a nail.”
I'm pretty sure he's referring to modern AV receivers, the kind that claim "100wpc into 7 channels" but have a power supply that's no bigger than that found in a vintage receiver that's specced for 50wpc into 2 channels. In the early 2000s I owned two pairs of Wharfedale Valdus 500 loudspeakers, I don't know what their impedance curve was but the label said "4 to 8 ohms". I used one pair of these speakers with a 2ch stereo receiver, a vintage 35wpc Akai AA-1135. I used the other pair in a 5.1 surround system with a modern 105wpc Marantz SR7300 AV receiver, which was a very big and expensive model at the time. The vintage Akai drove the Valdus no problem but the modern Marantz SR7300 would shut down when playing these speakers at high volumes. My solution was to mount a computer fan on top of the grille vent, after that the Marantz never shut down. The only thing that did puzzle me a bit is how he threw all receivers into one pot,
while to my impression there were many containing very capable amps bc they came from an era of understatement that a receiver should contain a good amp and a good tuner.
