Best practices when buying from the EU

Thanks for all the replies and the discussion guys! I think it is more complex than it appears on the surface and I suppose there are many different cases. It is a shame that the little fish (pun intended) got fried with Brexit!
What smart ways are there to make payments? Something like a 3rd-party-warrant-that-the-funds-are-available-but-will-be-released-only-when-the-goods-are-delivered king of thing?

Sweden, I have tried buying from the U.K. post Brexit it’s a PITA.
Nothern Ireland is fine. That's part of the United Kingdom. Expect to find more UK miainland companies setting up warehouses there over the coming years.

Hi, if you are in Europe and you are buying from Europe, get in your car and pick it up, especially anything big and heavy, and have a jolly doing it,

Hi graystoke4,

No, I am in the UK. I found a service called trustap. It's like a 3rd party safety payment box - funds are released only when the goods are received with no complaints. Its not a free one though. Anyone used it or something similar?
