Exceptional new audio products at realistic prices

seem to have a very enthusiastic following . might be worth seeing if you can get a good deal from a dealer . kef and B&w got 20% deals at moment so maybe proac might ??

I have exactly this VFM nag in my head when I contemplate a Tab 10 purchase. But damn, they look good in cherry! A perpetual win for indecision.

The Tab 10 Sigs (which I have in walnut) are definitely worth the money (unlike B&W and Kef they’re hand made in the UK and not mass assembled in China).

The combination of walnut with that copper phase plug is perfect. I saved a couple of hundred pounds by keeping the pair I had on home demo (which were - and still are - mint). I do prefer them with a sub as they are tiny sealed boxes after all. (I use a BK sub and, as per other comments on this thread, they’re an excellent company to deal with)

I have a base model Arkless phono stage and a Turbo (both MM although the Turbo will MC)

They both sound very good. Highly recommended.

Thanks:) For clarity, the Arkless 640P is MM and MC and has a switch on the back to change over. Only early versions were MM OR MC and these can have the switch retro-fitted (they had an internal link which can select MM/MC).

The Arkless GTi is MC only due to the type of circuitry it uses.

Turbo versions of either are in effect "deluxe" versions with various extra refinements.

On the other hand everything on the Kef has been developed/made in house including drivers.

However, the ProAc's look lovely.

Beautiful, just beautiful speakers. Country of manufacture is also attractive as I refuse to buy from Chinese based companies. I only wish there was more affordable competition for well-made small sealed box speakers - I don't know of any!

I can only find ported Allchris speakers, hifinutt.

Looking at high performance kits now. An Ergo IX kit has caught my attention: the speakers being a famed design by James of here.

Yep, The Ophidians are aeroflex vented, nice word but it works, truly excellent speakers if proper powered.
They leave X Tablets in the dust.

The Tron Seven Convergence MM or MC Phono stage.

Hand built by the designer for each client. Bespoke design with build quality and component quality of the highest level. Easy to obtain valves/tubes used, 2 x 12AX7s (ECC83s) and 1 x 12AU7 (ECC82), so no specialised or difficult to obtain valves/tubes. Its super quiet too.

Prices start at £1000 for the base model MM version and go up to £1600 for the Signature MC version. To obtain this level of quality from other mainstream manufacturers would cost 4 to 5 times the price.

There is also a complete Convergence system consisting of a line level preamp and a 70 watt Stereo and 70 watt Mono-block power amplifiers.

That emotiva pre amp is offers axing features for the money - even at uk prices. In the US it’s cheap as chips. A pair of active speakers and you’re all set up. Love it.
Just bought an Emotivo with acoustic energy ae1 active speakers, they sound excellent never heard of them before until another pfm member advised if them (thanks Salamander). Well worth it and I got it for a good price on ebay which was a bonus. New member so grateful for that.

I am very happy with the purchase of the Ifi Zen Dac because of its features, sound quality, price and last but not certainly least the 'build'; such a solid component where the turning of the volume knob is so sumptuously smooth with perfect weight that its a thrill to use it every time. Also there is no on or off switch but that is soon forgotten as a negative because the use of the DAC is such a pleasure...:)
