Meridian 101B servicing/'upgrade'

Chris Tarling

Yellow Hound
I have acquired a Meridian 101B which I am currently treating as a DIY project to teach myself some new skills.

I am replacing all of the electrolytic capacitors and fitting DIL sockets at the opamp locations so I can play around with some opamp changes.

Couple of questions!

Firstly I have seen an oft-mentioned 'CD mod' for the 101 but cannot find the details of what this is, whether it's a benefit (I intend to use my 101 purely with CD) and how to do it.

Secondly, and in a very similar vein, voltage regulator mods are alluded to. Again I can't find details.

Can anyone help with the answers to my questions?

Thanks!

I have a 101 with the 'CD upgrade'
It's a replacement switch which had an 'up' position as well as down and centre.
In the up position it selects the CD input, which is a flying lead with 2x phono plugs on.
There are a few schematics on the Web, one has the circuit for the CD input.
I might have a copy....somewhere..

Would like to see your schematic if you still have it.
