Ryder Cup 2021

We can afford to give it to the USA as they’ve only won it twice this century and Europe are still ahead in wins overall. 11-8 with one drawn and retained by Europe, so effectively 12-8 since 1979.

Congratulations to the US team. They have in the past produced some individuals who didn't gel well, but this young team has some exceptional talents who know each other and get on well. The crowd cries of "get in the water/sand" and cheering missed putts being the low points. I never understand why the US PGA isn't more embarrassed by them.

The Europeans were not in good form before the competition and so it proved, several delivered some atrocious putting by their own high standards. Certainly not the time to do that.

I can see the USA dominating this for years. They’ve got a bunch of players with Majors under their belts by their mid=20s. Europe’s team looks like it’s best years are behind it, with nothing near the quality of the Americans coming through.

The number of long putts holed by the Americans was unbelievable. All about the putting in match play and Europe were sadly outclassed in this department.
