Reasons to be cheerful part 3
1 2 3
Summer, Buddy Holly, the working folly
Good golly Miss Molly and boats
Hammersmith Palais, the Bolshoi Ballet
Jump back in the alley and nanny goats
18-wheeler Scammels, Domenecker camels
All other mammals plus equal votes
Seeing Piccadilly, Fanny Smith and Willy
Being rather silly, and porridge oats
A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome, we can spare it - yellow socks
Too short to be haughty, too nutty to be naughty
Going on 40 - no electric shocks
The juice of the carrot, the smile of the parrot
A little drop of claret - anything that rocks
Elvis and Scotty, days when I ain't spotty,
Sitting on the potty - curing smallpox

You beat me to it!

Nice idea

Fully agree ff.

Sex and Drugs & Rock & Roll. This thread might be the demise of pfm itself ;)

I reckon a photo of any of the crown wallpaper designs from the DIY sleeve is a certain winner :) I have this one but 'sadly' not the wallpaper

A fairly standard alfresco night at the Towers, but as I could see six Reasons To Be Cheerful (if you include the table - something that rocks, and my bonkers yellow begonias that don’t know when to stop growing - something nice to study) I thought I might as well make it my entry. I hope the other four are obvious. I’m also on a potty and in my nuddy which in turn is being rather silly, but as I’m not prepared to give photographic evidence I won’t claim those three.

Which begs the question - given all those Reasons, plus those that somehow slipped Ian’s mind (September nights that still feel like July at 10pm, bats and owls flying round, and as a special bonus a shooting star) - why am I such an irredeemably miserable, curmudgeonly old fart?

Oi - come on, you lot. Two weeks and no further submissions? Or are you all keeping your powder dry for a last-minute snipe?

This photo includes two of my reasons to be cheerful - my dog ("All other mammals plus equal votes") and our garden! Maybe 3 reasons if you include my home office, which is a much nicer location to work from than my real office!

Thanks to all for a gratifyingly large number of entries, and all of a uniformly high standard.
Unfortunately @stevied missed the midnight deadline, but it was good to see a gig picture...been a while, and a reason to be cheerful Mr Dury would definitely have empathised with.
Some witty takes on the lyric - Lighting up a Chalice and All Other Mammals Plus Equal Votes.
But the black humour, composition and understated technique of Get Back Into Bed did it for me.
So over to you, @Mr Perceptive!
