Doesn’t the hifi set the cymbals off? Mine does from the other room:D
Not especially! Definitely do have to have the snares locked through.

There’s a piano in the room too, so it’s definitely a ‘music’ room rather than a listening room, but that’s great for us.

Just inserted a nice example of a Rotel RQ 970BX into the Thorens fold. Think it matches the TT very well. Looking forward to some extended listening at the weekend. Also got a Creek T40 for £20 to boost my fm listening. Happy Days!

I seem to be doing very well. What should I plummet for next I wonder. Got about £100 left to play with!Choices, choices.

Make your own speaker cables?* You don't need £100 either. Here's some I made a couple of days ago for one of my systems ... excuse the colour, I love orange ...

Add a couple of ferrite clamps at the amplifier end to finish off.

Or perhaps get a NOS CCA for streaming?

You could probably do both for the budget.

If you shop really cleverly you could add a couple (or four) of these and put them on top of your speakers ...

Always fancied a Creek T43 but I suppose this isn’t that far away. Very detailed with just the right amount of bass. Really like it in Mono. The Rotel phono stage appears to give the Thorens a similar sound profile, maybe a touch more forward in its presentation.there’s something so right about the sound profile of this era.
