Turntable- is it really worth using with small speakers?

It’s a very odd question. Surely whether it’s a turntable, CD player, tuner, streamer or whatever makes no difference? A good source is a good source and good speakers are good speakers. I have small speakers - ProAc Tablette 10 Signatures - and three sources - a Rega Planar 8, and Naim streamer and a Naim tuner - and they all sound excellent.

The thing I don’t understand with this thread is the differentiation between turntables and other sources. I can understand some folk not liking little speakers, that’s a separate thing, but why is a turntable different from any other good source?

As ever, mastering > format. A great record, CD, hi-res download or whatever is going to sound great on any system.
