Exhibitions worth catching

Some great photographers featured there - no mention of Chris Killip though, which would be a shame.

Nevertheless, well worth the trek over for me.

For obvious reasons many exhibitions have been cancelled and postponed, but to make up a new short film has been released which includes still images from the late great Tish Murtha

New Short Film from Amy Jobe, using the documentary images from Tish Murtha

"I asked her what she wanted to photograph, and she said, ‘I want to take pictures of policemen kicking children,’ and I said ‘You’re in.’ It was the shortest interview I had ever done.’"
– David Hurn on Tish Murtha

And while you are in Liverpool, The Museum of Liverpool has a Blitz Photo exhibition, again you need to book entry (free) in advance.

Not an exhibition, but an important piece of work - kickstarter backing

Not quite in line with 'great exhibitions' - but a regular Guardian article I enjoy, that I haven't noticed mentioned on thread: My best shot:

https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/series/mybestshot

I thoroughly enjoy this simply because the scope is limited to - the story of one shot, by one photographer; and so - for every image - there's also an illuminating narrative - and that often links to other interesting things, and sources, and narrative - not always happy -and inspirations etc I'd never think of, or perhaps ever be exposed to.

I find it a long-running and illuminating and thoughtful column on the whole nature of what photography can be.
