Last time I saw him was in a pub in Stony Stratford near MK. Curmudgeonly old bugger but an absolute genius on the guitar. His ‘Playing Guitar The Easy Way’ is a textbook illustration of how to learn to play with fat fingers. I was really hoping to see him again, so bugger. RIP
Never really twigged on to the guy at the time but those first 4 albums of his are amazing. I just listened to them all on Amazon HD and there's not a duffer among 'em. Mick Ronson on guitar? Rick Kemp on Bass? Bloody hell it was like a Man Who Sold the World outtake session at times. Awesome stuff.
What a legacy. So underrated. His later stuff was a bit off but those first 4 albums. Wow.
