I bought this album just because on some thread that said it was great jazz because they didn’t get on too well! It was new for a tenner posted on the bay. f**k, I haven’t bought an LP for twenty years. Go for it.
It’s just brilliant. The piano tone is astonishing. The bass is so angry and it just a wonderful tenner if, like me, you like jazz but don’t know were to go. I think there are a few left. It was sealed and quite heavy in a good package

Agreed, a great album, tremendous 'belligerent' version of Caravan. I must admit, it's hard to imagine Ellington being angry with anyone, IIRC correctly, he was very kind and diplomatic when discussing the incident that led to Mingus being chucked out of his band after getting into a fight at the first rehearsal.
