Imagine the cost of making that today- huge cabinet with complex transmission line innards. Quite tweakable too- crossover upgrade can increase the power handling quite a bit.

Bought a pair last summer for £76, just for spares but the cabinets are being restored somewhere so they will live on. Just fitted on the back seat of a BMW 3 series loan car!

Been watching these a while, had a pair years ago, loved them.

I had a pair of these and a pair of the slightly smaller R40's,
great sound of that era, the electrolytic's will certainly need replacing in the crossovers,
sadly worth more in parts than as speakers!
there was also a very very similar DIY design/kit offered by one of the magazines back in the day.

Lovely midrange and lots of bass, too much for my rumbly 401 so they had to go. A shame.
