Enjoyed this chat with Jim McEwan (Bruichladdich). Long but worth it.

For some knowledgeable but unpretentious entertainment check out Aqvavitae's Recyced Reviews - 15 whiskies reviewed at the recycling bin, the premise being that your perception of a whisky changes over the course of your time with the bottle.

I tend to watch his vPubs on a Friday morning - a nice end to the week.
Re the above - Doing the whisky toast in a whisper so as not to wake his kids (and because he's that sort of bloke) was v. funny.
I've posted it before but he's the best Whiskytuber on the net IMO.
Some others I like:
Whisky Jason - knocking out almost daily reviews atm: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHGSDNjDyhBBO6XpF3SqYOA
The Whisky Novice - a lot of reviews of the core range: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClNGxPGBjKniWRCwDq3T9iQ
Malt Box** - "The Best Looking Whiskytuber" according to my Mrs (and John Drinks). I can see what they mean to be fair. Core range and good on Indies: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2hSs78ulAUlry8_SG0O-Dg
Sippers Social Club - from a Canadian persepective but firmly whisky: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3_i9G6LVAg5ROI_dHfk9EQ
Whisky in the 6 - as above: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRbdcQkwdDrXgZxmkb9lLhw
Their joint Whisky Rant podcast can be very good on current topics.
John Drinks** - Hesitate to recommend as humour is personal but I find him funny: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtqytFIyVquuH4YwgjWfsTg
Tasting note - "those sex harnesses you try sometimes when the spice is kind of dying and you want to give something a go".
Warning: swears a lot. Needs an Editor but knows.
The Liquid Antiquarian - deep dives into whisky history: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqbyf0TgTNLWArZTNJDy1Zg
Swedish Whisky Girl - "The Best Looking Whiskytuber" according to me. Reviews, again mainly of the core range: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbUSWwwlKK763b9Yae6mTuQ
Single Malt Review** - Kiwi Super Nerd Duo. Core range and amusing: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMp4VxlEq6Wn5ymFNy1V-Jg
The Good Dram Show** - whisky and ROCK! (Dave Goodrum - works in the trade and a competition Judge no less). Good for interesting themed line ups and honest opinion (don't mention sherry!): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC273sF8hCpQXuFo3YN9RUiw
Malt Reviews - VERY expensive whisky...but...wait for it...they actually drink it! I can't watch too much of them as it causes vague Missing Out issues (and they are a bit..."straight corporate American"): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjsC2wjdy2WgJ6VXVxLx9vQ

**contains cats. That's a pretty high cat quotient.

Must do some work...

Not tried it yet as I have too many open bottles on the go, and I'm trying to be healthy! It does, as you say, look like a second release is on it's way. Not a committee ( fancy way of saying on the mailing list) bottle, so different label, but I'm sure it will be exactly the same whisky inside.
According to this the general release of Scorch will only be 46%...though from the sounds of the review that may not be a bad thing!:

Restocking order, Seaweed and Aeons etc for the first time ..... you talked me into it.

Also, Port Charlotte 10, 1792 Small Batch and the Arran Gold as I do like a Cream Liqueur occasionally

I'm having a nip of the Tullamore D.E.W. XO Caribbean Rum Cask Finish. Not bad at all at £25.

After I finish this one neat, I might give it a go in an old-fashioned as I think it'll be nice in that.

Arrived yesterday and just opened this evening. That is really very nice indeed.
I think I may be getting some more of that.
Yes, mine arrived the same day as yours. It’s my second bottle, finished my first a couple of months ago and couldn’t resist replacing it at the price. One of my favourites. I haven’t delved into the world of expensive whiskies, £70 is about my limit, so at <£40 it’s a steal.

Strange how tastes differ. I've just finished a bottle of Penderyn Legend and found it wholly unexceptional. I prefer the peated alternatives.
The one I linked to, Celt, is mildly peaty.
I’ve never tasted the Legend.
I’m ¾ though a bottle of Celt, so have ordered another.
Unbeatable at the price imho.

I'd agree about the Legend - nothing wrong with it as such, just distinctly average. I've not tried the Celt though, and that one scores better (4.0 v 3.5) on MoM.

I liked the original Penderyn, but didn’t enjoy the Sherry cask finish version (too sweet). I had a bottle of Celt and it was indeed very nice, but I prefer Islay malts for peat. Celt felt a little bit like the peatiness was artificially introduced - like oaky Chardonnay where the flavour is from oak chips rather than the barrel.
